2009 Shelby County Reads

Shelby County Reads began in 2004 to bring the community together through the conversation about one book. Now in its fifth year, the program continues to grow fostering dialogue and initiating events around specific themes each February. Working with the county schools, the public library, and local businesses/organizations, the program promotes reading for all ages.
By bringing in authors, hosting events, and selecting different genres of material each year, it is Shelby County Reads' hope to not only expose the community to a broad range of literary material, but also to support discussion of the chosen books with engaging programs.
